What you will need:
Scissors
Cellotape
Ruler
Pins
1 meter of fabric (Width 110cm and over)
Tailor's chalk
Step 1:
Print our our free Kea Pillow Case Pattern here
Match triangle markers so they overlap.
Finished measurements should be -Front 94cm x 48cm. Back 84cm x 48cm. There maybe a few millimeters error either side of those measurements depending how precise you match the triangles.
Cut the pattern paper out.
Cut out 1 of fabric for both front and back pattern pieces. Follow the grain-line, it should run parallel to the selvage on the fabric.
Step 2: Front
Overlock along the top edge.
Along overlocked edge, measure out 1.5cm and draw a line all the way along the top.
Chalk/draw fold-line and stitch-line on to fabric. This is marked on the front pattern piece.
Fold and iron the 1.5cm chalked line. Folding towards the back.
Fold the fabric again following the fold line marked on the pattern.
This fold should match up with the chalked stitch line that you have already drawn on the fabric.
Sew along the stitch line, or the edge of the folded edge, which ever is more precise. Iron the seam.
Put aside, we are done with the front piece for now.
Step 3: Back
Overlock along the top.
Chalk/line draw your fold line markers.
Step 4 : Rolled Hem
To start we are going to create a very narrow turn over. Use the overlocking as your width guide. Turn this and iron as you go. It will create a nice narrow fold all the way along.
Using the narrow fold we just ironed, turn it again, tucking the overlocked edge underneath. Iron this in place.
Sew along the edge making a narrow rolled hem.
