Fabric

  • For the best results, choose fabrics with a soft drape that will let the skirt flow and move beautifully.

  • Ideal options include viscose/rayon, crepe, satin, silk, soft linen blends, or tencel/lyocell.
  • If you’d like a more casual look, lightweight cotton lawn or voile can also work well

All  measurements are based on a fabric width of 150cm (60”).

Only suitable for 150 cm (60”) width Fabrics.

Difficulty

Confident beginner.

Follow all instructions and make sure you read and understand the bias guide before beginning.

Size & Fitting

The fabric is cut on the diagonal grain, it will naturally stretch and mold to your curves. This is exactly what makes it so flattering, but it also means you need to be strategic about your size choice.

  • Prioritize the Waist: Your waist is your anchor. Because the bias grain allows the fabric to expand significantly over the hips, you should prioritize your natural waist measurement. If your hips are a size or two larger than your waist on the chart, prioritize the waist size to ensure the skirt doesn't slip down.

  • This skirt pattern is designed to sit about 5cm (2inches) below the natural waist.

  • there is 6cm ease between body measurements and pattern sizing.

FAQ

How do I choose my size?

  • Please don’t go by your "off-the-rack" clothing size! Every brand is different. Grab a measuring tape, measure your bust, waist, and hips, and compare them to the Size Chart included in your pattern booklet. When in doubt, it’s usually easier to take a garment in than to let it out.

Can I get a refund if it doesn't fit?

  • Because PDF patterns are digital files that you access immediately, I cannot offer refunds once the file has been downloaded. Please double-check your measurements against the size chart before you hit "purchase."

I’m stuck on a step! What do I do?

  • I’ve worked hard to make these instructions "hair-pulling free," but I know that sometimes we all get stuck. First, take a breath and re-read the step. If you’re still confused, feel free to send me an email with a photo of where you're stuck. I’m a one-woman show, so I’ll get back to you as soon as I can!

Can I sell items I make from your patterns?

  • My patterns are licensed for your personal, home use only. If you are a small maker who wants to sell garments made using my patterns, please contact me to discuss a commercial license. Mass production is not permitted.
