Terms & Conditions: Jaclyn M Studio


By using this website and purchasing from Jaclyn M Studio, you agree to the following terms and conditions. We operate "in trade" as a New Zealand business, and these terms are designed to protect both you and our studio under the Consumer Guarantees Act (CGA) and the Fair Trading Act (FTA).


1. Returns & Exchanges
We want you to love your purchase. We happily exchange or refund online orders for physical goods within 14 days of receipt, provided they meet the following conditions:
 

  • Clothing: Must be in original condition—clean, unworn, unwashed, undamaged, and with all original tags attached.

  • Bakeware & Silicone: For hygiene reasons, these must be completely unused and in their original, unopened packaging.

  • Digital Products: Due to the nature of digital downloads, we do not offer refunds or exchanges on PDF Sewing Patterns once the file has been accessed or downloaded.


 

2. Product Safety & Use (Bakeware)

  • When purchasing silicone bakeware, you agree to follow the provided care instructions to ensure safety and product longevity:

  • Heat Limits: Our silicone products are rated for use up to 230°C. Use exceeding this temperature is at the user's risk.

  • Handling: Silicone is flexible; always use a solid baking tray underneath flexible moulds for stability.

  • Damage: Do not use knives or sharp metal utensils directly on the silicone. Punctures or tears caused by sharp objects are considered "user damage" and are not covered under warranty.

3. Digital PDF Patterns

  • Delivery: Your PDF pattern will be delivered via a download link to the email provided at checkout. If you do not receive it within 1 hour, please check your spam folder before contacting us.

  • Copyright: All Jaclyn M Studio patterns are for personal use only. You may not copy, resell, or redistribute the digital files.

 

4. Faulty Items

I take great pride in my craft, but I am human. If a fault has slipped through, please let us know within 14 days of receiving your item. We will provide the option of a repair, replacement, or full refund as per our obligations under the CGA.

What is a "Fault"?

  • Clothing: Manufacturing defects like holes, broken stitches, or construction issues occurring before the item was worn.

  • Bakeware: Manufacturing defects in the silicone or failure to meet advertised heat standards.

  • Digital: Corrupted files or significant drafting errors that prevent the pattern from being used.

What is NOT a fault:

  • General Wear & Tear: Fading, food staining (e.g., turmeric), or accidental cuts.

  • Construction Style: Items are made using specific designer techniques and are not faulty because they differ from your personal preference.

  • Subjective Fit: While we provide size guides, everyone’s body is different. Fit preference is handled under our standard Exchange process, not as a fault.

5. Shipping & Couriers

  • Standard Returns: All return shipping costs are the responsibility of the customer (unless the item is faulty). We recommend a tracked service; we are not responsible for items lost in transit.

  • Faulty Items: Jaclyn M Studio will cover return costs. We will arrange a courier pickup.

  • Rural Customers: If courier pickup is unavailable in your area, we will reimburse you for the cost of sending the faulty item back via your local post office.

6. Inventory & Stockists

  • Availability: We strive for 100% accuracy, but if an item you ordered is unavailable, we will notify you via email to offer a substitute or a full refund.

  • Third-Party Stockists: Jaclyn M Studio cannot refund or exchange goods purchased through retail stockists. All such sales are subject to that specific store’s refund and exchange policy.

7. Pricing & GST

All prices are in New Zealand Dollars (NZD). Prices include GST where applicable. We reserve the right to change prices at any time prior to an order being accepted.
